Nancy J Scharmach (1937 - 2010) was born in New Jersey and educated at Nova University. She had a career in public relations, and wrote many articles, but just one book, as far as I’m aware. White Thunder (1967) is a story of the Nez Percé Indians.

Finding the book: reasonably easy to find.
